In front of the Blue Swallow Route 66 Motel, a vintage Pontiac Chieftain, gleamed in the late sun of a long summer evening, lighting the amber glass of the Chief's face with the sun's fire, highlighting the small scratches and nicks accumulated in the chrome over the many decades since this proud car rolled off the factory floor.
